History of Birr Football Club
Birr Town Football Club was Founded in 1969 by PJ Hoctor and Jim Delaney, uncle of the current FAI Chief Executive, John Delaney.
Birr had many homes, mainly rented fields from local farmers.
A Committee was eventually formed, led by the late Frank O' Connell and John Normile, from Birr Post Office.

This hard working group eventually secured funding and purchaed seven and one half acres of land at Tullamore Road, Birr.
This land was successfully developed and today stands as a wonderful testament to a group of people who displayed remarkable courage and vision.
